The way you start your day sets off the tone for not just for your entire day, but also for a healthier you, physically and mentally. Hence, it becomes pretty much essential to start off your day right, the way you like, but in peace. And over time, people have started to adopt morning rituals for glowing skins as well.
After a good night’s sleep, your body wakes up well rested, fresh and awake, making the best time to take care of a tender skin, body and mind. Here are some simple morning rituals you can follow to attain a healthy, glowing skin –
- Warm lemon water – Before you get to anything else, start off your day with a glass of warm water, squeeze some lemon juice into it, and get drinking! (If you want it sweet, you can add some honey too!) Lemons are rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C and help promote a radiant skin. Warm lemon water in the morning helps in cleansing our body from the inside, removing the toxins from within, resulting in a glowing skin on the outside. A healthy body is the key to a healthy skin, so make sure that you’re flushing all those toxins out before you start off with your day!
- Sweat it out! – Sweating works like a good steam session for the skin. It cleans the pores literally inside out, and is the best natural way of detoxifying. Exercising increases the heart rate and blood flow. And blood flow in return helps the skin to glow. So no matter how busy a schedule you’re running on, make sure that you’re getting at least 15 minutes of good cardio in the morning itself.
- Wipe your face with a warm towel – Not only it opens your pores, but also instantly wakes your skin up. It’s like a mild exfoliation which softens your skin. It will help your skin in proper penetration of other skincare products in your routine. But make sure you are not using a towel which is too hot in order to not burn your skin.
- The CTM routine – Cleanse, tone, moisturize : Cleanse – At night, our skin develops a protective layer because of which our face, almost always, feels oily after waking up. Thus, it becomes necessary to use a mild cleanser in the morning, which can cleanse the face properly, without drying it out, so as not to lead it to any breakouts. Tone – As soon as you cleanse your face, wipe your face with a toner right away. It helps in removing the remaining dirt residue on the face, and provides hydration to the skin too. Moisturize – Even for an oily skin type, it becomes important to moisturize the skin in order to keep it properly hydrated. It also helps in proper application of make-up as it won’t kick-off due to dry skin. So make sure that you’re moisturizing every day, but according to your skin type!
- Screen the sun! – Be bestfriends with your sunscreen, and wear it every day. Apply it at least 20 minutes before going out, so that it soaks into your skin properly. Long-time exposure to the sun can lead to wrinkles and sunspots. So try and reapply the sunscreen regularly throughout the day.
